IGH Naturals Introduces Nutrient Co-Transfer Technology (NCT)™ as Part of Their Hydration Solution

ROCKLIN, Calif., June 6, 2022 (Newswire.com) - IGH Naturals, an emerging leader in sports performance solutions, is prioritizing athletic endurance with its line of products utilizing a novel scientific method - Nutrient Co-transfer Technology™ or NCT. "This technology explores the potential of some nutrients (electrolytes, oligosaccharides or sugars) in their ability to enhance properties of other nutrients within the human body to amplify the effect", explains Dr. Sourabh Kharait, the Founder and CEO of IGH Naturals. "Frequently, electrolytes get mixed in different proportions in a solution. While that can serve as a hydrating solution, they are not as effective in improving performance. The doses, distribution, and co-transfer, meaning, proper "clubbing" of the right electrolytes, can make a difference in outcomes. Our goal is to create and measure that difference, in reducing cramps, improving endurance or clinical outcomes in individuals with dehydration" he adds.

IGH Naturals explains that athletes suffering from dehydration find it impossible to recover for days or weeks, and that electrolyte deficiency is central to these ill effects. To counter this, IGH Naturals began its endurance sports drink formulation by identifying the right blend of electrolytes needed for sustained athletic performance and eliminating those that are not. This was the framework for NCT™.

Previously, sports electrolyte drinks have utilized oral rehydration solution in their formulas, which typically includes sodium, sugar, and water. MAGNAK utilizes electrolyte powder mix with magnesium, a missing electrolyte that influences the function of other electrolytes, particularly that of sodium and potassium independent of its effect on muscle relaxation. Magnesium, at a higher dose, helps stimulate vasodilation of blood vessels allowing more sodium delivery to exercising muscles and probably reduces muscle lactate by increasing washout. Additionally, magnesium allows potassium retention by reducing its loss from the kidneys via urine. "This influence and almost exploitation of the function of other electrolytes by magnesium is a perfect example of how NCT™ works. An electrolyte by itself would not have the same effect, but together, in the right proportions, the electrolyte mix may make a huge difference".

The company has utilized the same technology in their product, HuMOLYTE. This prebiotic coupled electrolyte mix uses 2'-fucosyllactose (2'-FL), a complex oligosaccharide first isolated from human milk (hence termed human milk oligosaccharide or HMO) in a magnesium rich electrolyte blend. "By using 2'-FL, we are aiming for the gut epithelial lining to be preserved in the setting of insults and injuries like chemotherapy, antibiotic use and infectious diarrhea. If the lining is preserved, the electrolytes can be better absorbed rather than simply being leaked out back into the gut lumen", explains Dr. Kharait.

IGH Naturals is now getting ready to publish its first set of findings to support the above hypotheses.
